Our life of worship
|
St. Paul's Bow Common was designed for one purpose .. which is for the worshipping life of the gathered Christian community. Sortly after it was built it was even desribed as a 'liturgical machine'! This area of our website describes its 'founding principles' in more details and also how we discovered in 1998 that these same founding principles make this building equally welll suited to the non-liturgical life of the church and also to the life of the wider community. For us whose home this is, the prime purpose of our church is for us to gather together in worship and prayer. The Christian year has a very rich sequence of seasons and festivals and our building very 'generously' allows us to explore its potentail in the ways in which we can use it for worship, especially during the most crucial of celebration in the Christian calendar - that of Holy Week and Easter. This area of the website tracks some of this seasonal use of the church for worship.
